Successful Meeting of the INES Board in Sankt Augustin

From 5 until 7 September 2008 the INES board members gathered in Sankt Augustin near Cologne for their annual autumn meeting.
We looked back on the last six months with satisfaction. The organization continues to develop and we have been able to offer a number of interesting events to our members and other interested people we have reached through the means of our network. We also supported a number of students and propective students with their careers in European Studies and we were able to make it all a bit more transparent for them. Therefore the evaluation brought mainly positive results. However, there are still challenges to be met in the near future.
During the meeting once again very important topics were discussed such as the future strategy with view to promoting and extending our network.
We have set some very exciting events on our agenda for the next six months, for example the participation of INES in first-semester-activities as well as a lecture series on the topic of a “European Identity” scheduled to start with the beginning of the new terms at our partner universities or a trip to Brussels early next year. Moreover we will be offering INES activities on the way to the upcoming elections for the European Parliament.
We hope that the next six months will be even more successful and for this we are calling on our members’ continuing support. From Sankt Augustin we send out a clear message: The network is only as strong as its members. Come and join us to create something special and important to get the people a bit closer to Europe – share your expertise and profit from the benefits! Become active in a network which is truly yours!
